a little about me

Welcome!
I’m Mikaela, a 27-year-old Florida-based creative dedicated to exploring perspectives and finding beauty in every day. My work is rooted in intentionality, altruism, aesthetics, and creativity. My ultimate goal is to encourage others to embrace the world around them, stay grounded in who they are, and never be afraid to express themselves. While the world around us can feel heavy at times, art brings us together, reminds us of what's truly important, and can shed light in some of the darkest places.
For me, creative expression takes shape by capturing moments through the lens and translating lived experiences into words.

art that tells a story--

art that tells a story--

my ‘why’

Art has always taken two primary forms in my life: photography and poetry. For as long as I can remember, poetry has been my refuge during challenging seasons and moments that demanded deep reflection. It has served as both a creative outlet and a healing practice, allowing me to articulate emotions with honesty, depth, and intention. Inspiration can feel elusive at times, yet the right words often arrive unexpectedly and usually when I need a renewed perspective on my own experiences. Photography, on the other hand, offers a constant source of inspiration. I draw from the beauty of the world around us. Being behind a lens, opens my eyes to a lot that may otherwise be overlooked. Through this art, I notice more love, light, meaningful moments, and beautiful places. Capturing a moment in time brings me a deep sense of fulfillment and gratitude. The ability to preserve what is fleeting, in a way that feels both intentional and artistic, is something I will never take for granted.

Whether through imagery or words, my hope is that my work resonates with you.

Thank you for being here.
